All the signs point to Manchester United repeating as English Premier League champions again this year as they only need a point from their last two games with a disappointing Arsenal at home and a woeful Hull City side away next weekend.
And while stranger things have happened, United would have to totally collapse to blow it now, but Arsenal may be motivated enough to spoil the party this weekend, especially after United sent them crashing out of the Champions League with a good old fashioned thumping.
So while United look like a lock to be celebrating pretty soon, don’t bet the house on it happening against Arsenal, just in case.
Meanwhie, a story out of Britain today (May 15th) told of Glasgow Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot who was sent to hospital with pretty bad burns on his face after an egg he was cooking in the microwave oven blew up on him.

The 25-year-old Scottish international was burned by the hot water of his poacehed eggs. He was treated for a burned cheek and then sent home to recover. Although it may sound slightly funny, Broadfoot was pretty lucky he didn’t get the boiling water in his eye.
So while we’re talking about freak accidents to footballers, let’s have a look at some of the stranger ones over the years.
It appears that keepers Dave Beasant and Santiago Canizares both have butter fingers as they each dropped glass bottles and did what comes naturally to footballers, they tried to control the falling bottles with their feet and injured themselves.
Former England midfielder David Batty may want to think twice about what he gives his young son as birthday and Christmas presents as his young boy ran over his foot with a tricycle and injured his dad’s achilles tendon.
Darius Vassell and Charlie George might want to spend their hard-earned wages on a handyman and a gardener as Vassell injured his toes with a drill, while George hurt his with a lawnmower.
Last year, Italian midfielder and ex Glasgow Rangers star Gennaro Gattuso dislocated all of the fingers on his left hand after he fell down a hole between two dug-outs in a training session.
Way back in 1975, Manchester United goalie Alec Stepney actually dislocated his jaw while shouting so much at his defenders.
Earlier this season, Stoke midfielder Liam Lawrence suffered an ankle injury after he fell over his dog.
In 2006, Portuguese league player Igor broke his leg when he ran into his teammate Bechara after they both went to take the same free kick and ended up booting each other.
And who can forget the poor player who basically ripped his finger off a few years ago as his ring got caught in a fence while he was celebrating a goal. It seems he was married for only a couple of weeks and forgot he was wearing it. And to add insult to injury he received a yellow card for the over the top celebration.
